Why did I start Writing SCI-FI
I have embraced a special interest in both science and magic fiction since elementary school. At that time, I grew fascinated by the plots and characters in the Harry Potter series, because the author, J.K. Rowling, had created an amazing magical world with different creatures and spells based only on her imagination.
I started reading some science fiction in middle school, mostly those written by Liu Cixin. One of his most impressive science fiction works was "Dark Forest." The book wove plots, science knowledge, and philosophy together, creating a fantasy story involving two civilizations. Since the plots seem based on space technology, their climax surprised me, for it seemed that no one could have ever come up with such an imaginative ending. This book has motivated me to explore the intersection of science and fiction in my own writing.
Therefore, I started updating my own writing on WeChat Public Page in 2020, and continually donate any money I earn through that to a charity called St.Jude. The graph on the left was the first logo I design for my public page.
In 2023, I wished that my writings could be spread to people around the world, so I translated them into English by myself, and I created the website Galen's Scifi World to demonstrate all my translated work.
